WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR
3 Jan
I think and talk a lot about improvement. One thing I know is to make improvement happen it must be scheduled. Many of us make New Years resolutions this time of year with grand plans to improve our lives in areas of health, work, and family. Here’s hoping you have made some of those objectives as well. In this post I want to give you some basic strategies to aid in the achievement of your 2012 goals.
- BE REALISTIC: Don’t shoot for the moon just yet. In fact, some have recommended using January as a month to get yourself in a commitment mindset. Be ready to commit and follow through on your commitment. This method will test only your ability to stay with your commitment for a month.
- FIT OBJECTIVES INTO YOUR DAY: Take your goals and ask yourself what activities must be done on a daily basis to make progress. Then realistically schedule a time to do those activities on a daily basis. If you don’t set a specific time to work on it the chances of achievement drop significantly.
- WILL POWER/FOCUS: Let’s face it. Over 50% of people break their resolutions within the first two weeks of the year. Do you have a stronger commitment than that? How long can you stay the coarse? Chances are good that life will get in the way. It may be less than two weeks or it may be 6 months but it will happen. Those who will be successful make the commitment to bring themselves back on track even when they stray. This act of will power and focus is perhaps the toughest and most important element.
Whatever you resolve to do this year, we wish you the very best of luck. Here’s to 2012 being a tremendous year for you and your learning within the game of football. Cheers!
